Margalit Slovin moved from Texas to Toronto to study photography and traveling to India, Thailand, China and Israel have had a great influence on her, and her work reflects her unique experiences. She creates compelling photographic art, often through a combination of portraits and landscapes. The themes often found in her work highlight specifics within culture, religion, and identity. She has been recognized for her photographic works in many contests and exhibits internationally.

Her recent professional endeavours include photography internships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Art Institute in Chicago. Previously, she worked at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem as both a Photographer and a Copyright and Image Resource Associate. Margalit graduated with honours, with a BFA in Photography in June 2013 and a Masters in Photographic Preservation and Collection Management in October 2016 at Ryerson University in Toronto.
